CoffeeHouse

Dear Journal,

Didn’t think I was a coffeehouse kind of gal, did you? Me neither. I went to my first coffeehouse event last night from 7 pm to 9 pm. It is an event where people can sing, perform, and read poems and stories. I went there because I was supposed to take pictures of the people there for my marketing job. Also, I’m getting better at wielding a camera. Ha! My brother would never see it coming. He has always believed I absolutely suck at taking pictures. Hahaaaa! Who’s laughing now Anselm?

Anyways, I didn’t think the event would turn out to be that amazing! There was this beautiful singer Ava, who sang two wonderful songs while she played her guitar. She sounded so beautiful I couldn't believe my ears. I met her yesterday at a book club at the school library. She was the only other student there, everyone else was a teacher or a staff member. She’s smart and confident.

She sang about how she always thought she was better off being independent and never falling in love with someone. After hearing her sing, I thought about how I wasn’t that talented at anything at all. I couldn’t pick something that I’m completely good at. Then I thought about what I could possibly bring to the table in a romantic relationship, and you guessed it, nothing came forward.

She encouraged me to share something too. I declined at first, but I decided to share a draft of an essay I wrote and saved on my Google Docs. Since I don’t want to make this post too long, I’ll write it as an individual post. Its title is My First Internal Tatoo.

I ended up drinking three cups of coffee after the event ended. Why? Because it was free! And yes, I am feeling very sleepy already haha.
