Track Entry - Day 2

Dear Journal,

I was right! Practicing with the rest of them was incredibly AMAZING! I did not get tired one bit after all the rounds. I was so happy and giggly the whole time people were breathing hard. Katie, our captain and one of the three girls on the team, told me that her goal in life was to be as happy as I was during the whole practice. This has been my favorite experience of the week so far.

When I told Dyamond, who has become my friend and driver to practice on our way back home that I was not in the least tired, she couldn’t believe it. She kept asking me what secret potion they fed us back in my country. I discovered that I spelled her name wrong before and have spoken to her about letting white people just be people. She was the “Diamond“ featured in an earlier post. She still gives me playful eye rolls when I talk about attractive white people for 30 minutes. Haha.

Dheaven is the third passenger in Dyamond’s car, and a friend from the apartment and now track buddy. He’s chill and has a relatively innocent-looking face. But his muscles say something else. He is built and would be extra intimidating if he were taller.

I had the best athlete practice today and cannot wait for tomorrow!!! Coach each one of us messages to comment on our performance, and he commended me a lot. I hope all this happiness and readiness does not jinx something. Hahahaa…

No seriously.

I would hate to be the butt or lead weight dragging the team down. Ugh, I’m worrying too much. I’m doing great and will keep it up. After all, it’s my first time.
